"Cavs General Manager Koby Altman realized that possibility and its implications when he made the blockbuster trade deadline deal for the Detroit Pistons two-time All-Star center on Feb. 6. With few teams having salary cap space and the cap perhaps reduced by the loss of revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic, Drummond isn’t likely to get that kind of money elsewhere.

With free agency slated to open on Oct. 18, according to The Athletic, Drummond, 26, may want to wait to join the star-studded 2021 class. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis are expected to lead that group, and LeBron James will face a decision on his player option. There is speculation around the league that teams may not be ready to spend until then."

Dunno if Celts can afford him but he just might put them in the Finals! Harry

Sign Drummond to whatever they can afford this year with the understanding that he'll get a max type 5 year contract next year. Then draft the kid from OSU (move up to #1 for a top pick this year and next year's first round pick)) and try to find a Hondo type somewhere (FA or draft) for 6th man and then LOOK OUT, finals here we come! Those three guys will remake the team! In point of fact, Drummond and Wesson should do it. Harry
